AM Best's 2025 Student Challenge

Congratulations to the winners of AM Best's 2025 Student Challenge: Hernán Burgos & Alexander Porte of the University of Wisconsin–Madison – Wisconsin School of Business. Their proposal provides an affordable tropical storm parametric insurance product to low-income individuals and micro enterprises within the coastal regions of Latin America and the Caribbean based on real-time meteorological data. AM Best’s 2025 Student Challenge is an insurance solution-based competition. Its purpose is to empower undergraduate and graduate students by challenging them beyond the classroom—promoting thought leadership and innovation in the field of insurance and risk management.

The Challenge provides students with valuable exposure to insurance professionals and gives them experience for their resume, while also introducing new insurance/risk management talent to the industry.
